Richard Schneider (March 5, 1936 — January 31, 1997) was an American luthier that provided a breath of fresh air to the traditional concepts of building guitars. With his revolutionary model the "Kasha" Schneider set out to redefine how the classical guitar was built. During his lifetime he was a well respected builder. He collabroated with reknowned chemist Dr. Michael Kasha (which bears his namesake), studied in Mexico, and kept an open workshop for young builders to learn his craft. He had a truly innovative spirit and it reflects in his instruments.
