This is a lovely spruce and Indian rosewood instrument by luthier and guitar making educator John S. Bogdanovich. Inspired by the designs of Hauser and Torres, John, like most builders, used their work and their styles as his jumping off point. But with every guitar that crossed his path, be it one of his own or another builder's, his own ideas began to filter into his instruments. And now the Bogandovich guitars bare little resemblance to his idols work and instead stand along them as wholly unique and delightful instruments.
The middle range of this 2009 model is what immediately struck me; clear and even, it makes chord voicings really pop and be heard. The basses have some nice kick and stay solid as you work up the neck and the trebles are very musical. The workmanship is as impeccable as one would expect from a builder who has both authored a book and a produced a DVD on guitar building. John has also made it a point to keep his instruments priced at a level that is reasonable and reachable for the majority of classical guitarists and you'll find that fantastic value at a great price in this 2009 Bogdanovich!
