This earlier effort from Matthias was originally picked up by Pepe Romero and then passed to one of his great students. It features a longer scale length (664mm) and wider nut (54mm) but still remains easy to play due to a slightly thicker neck than his current output. This 1990 is also of a heavier build than the newer Dammanns which helps creates a more rounded, meatier tone without the harshness some hear in Dammann's guitars.

The guitar does have a couple repaired cracks (Note: Top is free of cracks!); one crack on the back and one onthe side of the guitar, which were taken care of by the wizard of guitar repair, Yuris Zeltins, who then cleaned up the existing polish on the guitar.

If you haven't been swayed by the sound and power of a Dammann yet, this might be the one that will show why players such as David Russell and Manuel Barrueco are playing these in concert! Caution: the price of the Damman guitars aren't for the faint of heart...but neither is digging into full fortissimo on one!!!
