That's right, before a dream inspired Tom to make his wildly popular Millennium model guitars, he was making excellent guitars in a traditional method. Built in a heavier style, compared to some of his contemporary builders, these instruments benefit greatly from a lot of playing time and age which loosens them up to sing with a deep, solid spruce tone.
The guitar has had some cracks open over the years but all have been repaired and are stable. The most noticeable crack is on the top, upper bout and about 2 inches long on the bass sideĀ just away from the fingerboard. Despite the cracks the guitar sounds wonderful and with beautiful separation and character. It has long been a favorite for tone in the shop by John and I as well as many performers and clients who have come to the shop.
