A happy December to all! We have a whole slew of concerts coming your way including the previous announced Goin' South Band on December 12th, but we are very excited to announce a weekend of guitar awesomeness with both a classical concert and a flamenco concert. Plus a special discount if you come to both!

 

Grisha Goryachev will be at the Triangle on Saturday December 18th at 8pm to thrill us with his flamenco prowess. His program will be a journey through the music of modern and traditional masters such as Sabicas, Ernesto Lecuona, Mario Escudero, Manolo Sanlúcar, Rafael Riqueni, and Paco de Lucía during this all-flamenco concert.

A native of St. Petersburg, Russia, Grisha Goryachev is renowned for his extraordinary musical sensitivity and technical virtuosity in both classical and flamenco styles, and is praised by guitar luminaries Paco de Lucía, Christopher Parkening and Eliot Fisk. Grisha is one of very few guitarists who is reviving the tradition of solo flamenco guitar in a concert setting that was practiced by legendary flamenco masters such as Ramón Montoya, Sabicas and Paco de Lucía.

He was honored to present an all-flamenco program to the Guitar Foundation of America Classical Competition and Festival in 2010, which was received with high critical acclaim. Grisha is delighted to present his music to audiences worldwide, in intimate venues where he personally comes to those who cannot travel, schools and colleges, guitar festivals, and theater settings. From crystal clear harmonics that wittingly ends a playful Garrotin, to fast and fiery rasguedos to accompany the fastest of Bulerias, to delicate tremolos, Grisha's blazing fingers leaves the audience in awe with an unbelievable display of heartfelt musicality, artistry, and technical virtuosity.
